Nando Costa

"I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil in 1978 and there I first entertained my artistic appetite by enrolling in Art School as a young teenager. After High School I moved on to study Graphic Design and before graduating, packed my bags and moved to the United States.

"Following my instincts, I have worked intensively with print, web and broadcast Design while living in Atlanta, New York and Chicago. My personal interactive showcase, hungryfordesign was launched in 1999. Rather than becoming a wellspring for design and art history as intended, the site became the main vehicle to express my visual ideas. I tend to see it as a replacement for the paper and the canvas I was once so used to communicating with.

"More recently I have worked as an Editor for Die Gestalten Publishing. The concept of the project is to invite Artists from numerous countries to create images and videos based on their impression about Brazil. The book and DVD titled "Brasil: Inspired" will be available in November of 2002."
